SIRIO SCO-868-6-NF-77

To get the most out of any device that uses radiofrequency, as is the case of the HELIUM MINING HOTSPOT (HNT). As important as the device itself is the antenna and the cable used. A good device, even the most expensive on the market, using the small antenna that usually comes with the equipment, will have a much lower performance than a simpler equipment that uses a high-performance external antenna (antenna gain).

It is a very simple matter of physics. As for radiofrequency antennas of standard quality, the longer the antenna, the greater the range and therefore the greater the performance. Any Hotspot using an outdoor antenna will have a greater radius of action and therefore better performance than another that uses the small antenna that usually comes with the device.

We could summarize the issue in the following questions:

How can I have a greater range and get more out of my HOTSPOT from HELIUM? Forget about the little antenna that comes with the device and install a good outdoor antenna.

What type of antenna? An OMNIDIRECTIONAL type antenna. They are the type of vertical antennas like this model SCO-868-6-NF-77. The fact of being called OMNIDIRECTIONAL type means that this type of antennas are capable of emitting and receiving in all directions in 360º. Therefore, whatever direction the signal comes from, the antenna will pick it up. This type of antenna emits the same way: in all directions in 360º. Avoid directive or panel type antennas since these only work in specific directions, losing everything that does not enter their working angle

How long should my antenna be? Well, for a purely physical reason, the general rule says that the longer the antenna, the more gain (which ultimately means higher performance)

How and where do I install my antenna? Outside the house, on a mast, if possible in the highest and clearest area in 360º. This would be ideal. But it already depends a lot on the type of housing. If you live in a house it will be much easier than if you live in a flat of a building. If you cannot install it at the top of the building, you will have to put it on a balcony or window, but always outside to get the most out of your HOTSPOT. You will have to join the antenna to the HOTSPOT using an adapted cable with the connectors used by both the mining device and the antenna. The cable must be of high quality (very important!!!). A good HOTSPOT, connected to a good antenna through a bad cable, can lose a lot of performance due to the cable or connectors and thus lose all the grace of the system. Try to keep the length of the cable from the antenna to the HOTSPOT as short as possible. The more meters of cable you use, the greater the loss of signal along the way. Although it will always be preferable to use a 15-meter cable if the antenna is installed outside in a high and clear area than to use a 3-meter cable and the antenna is inside a balcony or window.

What cable and connectors do I use to connect my HOTSPOT with the antenna? Very simple, we give you facts. We have cables with connectors already assembled in different sizes

In the end, the whole set must have a good relationship: a good hotspot a good outdoor antenna suitable for working with a HOTSPOT (the longer the antenna, the better) a quality cable suitable for this type of device, with good connectors an antenna installation as high and clear as possible the minimum possible cable length between the antenna and the HOTSPOT. With all this, you will have your miner with the best and most optimal tools to work with. The HELIUM will not resist you!!!
