broadband detection The 0-14 GHz broadband detector provides the longest coverage range of all RF activity in the target area. The frequency of the detected signal (up to 6 GHz) can be viewed simultaneously and the 'Livescan' software graphically displays the detected live signal pattern to help identify signal type. This can be especially useful when searching for pulsating or burst devices such as GPS trackers.
Worldwide cellular band detection The WAM-X5 has separate worldwide multi-band cellular coverage. Simply select the international region in which the device is being used and the WAM-X25 will detect signals from all relevant local cellular bands. This means that the WAM-X25 is ready for the launch of the latest 5G devices around the world. Of course, all existing 2G, 3G and 4G bands will also be covered. It can be used in any environment where mobile devices are prohibited, such as sensitive meeting rooms to check for hidden devices, unauthorized use of mobile phones in offices, examination rooms, hospitals or prisons, and in vehicles to locate the latest vehicle/asset tracking devices. All cell activity is logged and can be reviewed at any time, graphically or in list format.
2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi detection The WAM-X25 has separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands to detect the rapidly growing threat of Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Video and other next generation 'Store & Forward' devices. Such devices can, for example, record audio for long periods and then transmit it in short regular bursts. It will also detect other devices using these bands, such as covert wireless video transmitters.
Wi-Fi Network Analyzer
The WAM-X25 features a new standalone Wi-Fi network analyzer (2.4 and 5GHz) to provide detailed information on the activity of WLAN networks in the surrounding area, such as access points, routers, Wi-Fi cameras , etc. access points/Fi clients and compile a detailed list of information: event date and time, Wi-Fi MAC address, manufacturer (if available), type (access point or client), number of data packets detected , Wi-Fi SSID (if available) and band (2.4 or 5 GHz)
Bluetooth Device Analyzer The WAM-X25 also features a built-in Bluetooth analyzer to enumerate nearby active Bluetooth devices such as smartphones, tablets, headphones, fitness trackers, etc. The information collected includes: date and time of the event, Bluetooth MAC address, manufacturer (if available), signal strength in dBm, and number of data packets detected.
Address search function The new Direction Search mode allows the user to locate the source of a detected RF signal by rotating the WAM-X25 360 degrees using the supplied directional antenna. By slowly rotating the unit, signal strength information is collected and graphically displayed in 360 degrees to give the user an accurate indication of the detected signal source.
A new keyboard layout means operation is simple and intuitive. All information is displayed on a high-resolution 7-inch color TFT screen that allows the user to simultaneously perform real-time detection and view events that have previously occurred. Each band has an individual 20-element signal strength meter that makes it easy to locate the precise source of a detected signal. An audible 'Beep' mode allows the user to monitor without looking at the screen and a silent vibration mode can also be used for particularly sensitive areas.
Up to 10,000 events can be stored within the WAM-X25 for simultaneous viewing as a list or graphically. For each detected signal (no matter how long or short) it will record the time/date, duration, detected band, and signal strength. This can be particularly useful for identifying the type of device being discovered. For example: a string of regular short bursts on a particular band may represent those of a GSM/GPS tracking device. These could be clearly seen in graphics mode as regularly spaced lines representing the pulsating nature of the transmission. Additionally, observing call activity at certain times of the day can help identify unauthorized phone use in sensitive areas such as prisons, company boardrooms, exam rooms, etc.
The WAM-X25 is designed and manufactured in the UK to the highest specifications and is encased in a custom machined aircraft grade aluminum casing. It uses an integral lithium polymer battery pack and is supplied with an international charger. The complete system is supplied in a compact, heavy-duty military standard carrying case for maximum protection.
