The IC-7100 is a multifunction transceiver that offers coverage on the shortwave (HF), 2-meter, and 70-centimeter bands and supports all operating modes, including D-Star for digital communications. This device is designed for versatility both in the home and in the field, with a remote control unit that makes it ideal for vehicle installation. Its bright and clear LCD touchscreen makes operation extremely easy, making it intuitive and convenient.
In terms of reception technology, the IC-7100 incorporates a 32-bit DSP (digital signal processor), which guarantees high-quality reception. This processor provides access to a range of advanced features such as dual-band tuning, noise reduction, CW auto-tuning, autonotch (automatic interference suppression), and several adjustable filter modes without the need to purchase additional crystal filters. All this covers a wide frequency range from 30 kHz to 199.999 MHz, and from 400 to 470 MHz in all modulation modes, providing great flexibility of use.
The transmitter is also robust, delivering 100W of power on all HF bands (160 to 10 meters), plus 50W on the 6-meter, 2-meter, and 4-meter bands, and 35W on the 70-centimeter band. The built-in SWR meter allows for precise tuning to optimize antenna performance, and DSP technology ensures a clean output signal. The IC-7100 also includes a high-quality voice processor and compressor. The IC-7100 allows the connection of two antennas, one for the HF bands and one for VHF/UHF.
The device features a compact and portable design. The control unit measures 16.5 cm wide, 6.4 cm high, and 7.85 cm deep, weighing only 500 grams, making it very manageable. The main unit is also small, measuring 16.7 cm x 5.8 cm x 22.5 cm and weighing 2.3 kg, allowing the IC-7100 to easily fit into tight spaces. It can also be powered by 13.8 V/22 A, making it suitable for both fixed and mobile operations, and ideal for expeditions and field use.
