AOR SA-7000 Super broadband base antenna for scanning from 30 Khz to 2 Ghz. The SA7000 is an external receiving antenna designed for a wide frequency range, making it suitable for short wave (SW), very high frequency (VHF) and fr reception. more Manufacturer: aor Reference SA7000
The SA7000 is an external receiving antenna designed for a wide frequency range, making it suitable for short wave (SW), very high frequency (VHF) and ultra high frequency (UHF) reception. It covers frequencies from 30 kHz to 2 GHz, making it versatile for various radio applications.
Key features of the SA7000 antenna include:
Dual Element Design: The antenna consists of two whip-type elements. One is a long element optimized for shortwave frequencies up to 30 MHz, while the other is a shorter loaded whip designed for frequencies up to 2 GHz. The loading coils are tuned around 150 MHz and 800 MHz to improve performance in the VHF and UHF bands.
Compact Size: The SA7000 is relatively compact, with a total height of only 1.80 meters. This design is suitable for installations where space is limited or when a discreet, inconspicuous configuration is required.
Weatherproof Box: Both whip elements are connected to a single coaxial cable that is housed in a weatherproof box. This box can be securely mounted to a suitable support pole (not included).
Easy Installation: The SA7000 is designed for easy assembly and use. Includes an instruction sheet and comes with "V" bolts and clamps for installation. However, you will need a short mast (not provided) for installation, ideally placed as high as possible and in a clear space to avoid interference.
Coaxial Cable Included: Approximately 15 meters of coaxial cable terminated with the antenna, ready for connection. The coaxial cable should be routed to your desired listening location, avoiding interference from electrical wires, television cables, and computers.
Cable Extension and Replacement: If necessary, the BNC connector can be removed and replaced, and it is advisable to have a spare connector on hand. When extending the cable, a high-quality 50 OHM coaxial cable, such as UR43 or UR76 (or quality RG58/U), should be used, along with low-loss connectors. For longer cable runs (20 meters or more), consider upgrading to a higher strength low loss cable such as UR67 or RG213.
The SA7000 is a versatile and compact external antenna suitable for a wide range of frequencies, offering ease of installation and flexibility for radio enthusiasts. Provides improved performance for SW, VHF and UHF reception, making it a valuable addition to radio monitoring setups.
