YAESU FTM-510-DE

The FTM-510DR ASP shares the core feature set of the current FTM-500DR, but is equipped with the new Super-DX and ASP (Audio Digital Signal Processor Unit).

Super-DX: When the received signal is weak, the sensitivity of the RF amplifier can be increased by activating the Super-DX function in analog FM/digital C4FM modes.
ASP (Audio Digital Signal Processor) – When operating in FM analogue mode, the ASP can also be activated in addition to the Super-DX. By digitally processing the received FM audio to remove noise, the ASP ensures reliable and comfortable audio quality for weak signals. This helps to extend the communication range.
You can also select the ASP AUTO mode. In this mode, the ASP is automatically activated when the transceiver detects weak signals in FM analog mode.
For effortless and intuitive operation, the FTM-510DR ASP's PMG and MAG functions have been enhanced.

PMG (Primary Memory Group): Up to 5 VFO frequencies or memory channels can be assigned to the PMG (Primary Memory Group) and monitored. The reception status of the PMG channels is displayed by an orange/gray bar graph on the PMG display. When a signal disappears, the bar graph color changes from orange to gray in real time. With the FTM-510DR ASP , the gray bar graphs (historical received signals) automatically fade 2 seconds after a signal is lost. With the FTM-500DR , the gray bar graphs remain until manually reset by pressing the DIAL knob.

Other practical differences of the PMG function between the FTM-510DR ASP and the FTM-500DR are:

( PMG updated in ASP FTM-510DR )

AUTOMATIC mode
PMG channels are scanned and up to two channels with signals are received and listened to simultaneously.
Transmission is performed automatically on the received channel.

MANUAL mode
The PMG channel manually selected for transmission is always scanned and received. Other PMG channels are also scanned and a channel with a signal can be received and listened to at the same time.
The transmit channel can be selected by rotating the DIAL knob or by touching the bar graph of the desired channel on the PMG screen.

(Current PMG on the FTM-500DR)

AUTOMATIC mode
The PMG channel manually selected for transmission is always scanned and received. Other PMG channels are also scanned and a channel with a signal can be received and listened to at the same time.
The transmitting channel can be selected by rotating the DIAL knob on the PMG screen.

MANUAL mode
The PMG channel manually selected for transmit is always scanned and received. Other PMG channels are also scanned and displayed in a bar graph on the screen, but no audio is heard.
The transmitting channel can be selected by rotating the DIAL knob on the PMG screen.

MAG (Automatic Memory Grouping): In addition to the memory channels that can be recalled per band, the FTM-510DR ASP has the new “My Group” function that allows selection of any memory channel regardless of band.
For current FTM-500DR users, the updated PMG function and “My Group” function in MAG will be available by updating the firmware, if preferred. The corresponding firmware will be released by the end of February 2025.
